6 Reasons You Should Go On A Yoga Retreat

There are plenty of good reasons to go on a yoga retreat, such as:

  1. YOGA

You’ll probably get to practice all the yoga you can handle. You might be a current yoga lover, or maybe you’re someone looking to get into yoga for the first time. Either way, a yoga retreat is going to offer you an immersion into yogic practices. Depending on the retreat and the experience and level of the instructor, you will get a chance to deepen into the entire scope of yoga including asana, meditation, mantras, nutrition, philosophy, and more.

  1. RELAXATION

A yoga retreat is a vacation from your daily life. It’s an opportunity to relax, unwind, restore, and rebalance. You will return to refreshed. How can you not? You’ll be practicing yoga every day, eating healthy food, and depending on where in the world you are, you will be most likely spending quality time in nature. Whether you’re on the beach, or in the mountains, there’ll be plenty of time to soak up your surroundings. A retreat is exactly that; a retreat. It’s meant for you to retreat away from your daily life, so you can fully unplug and destress.

  1. NEW FRIENDS

A yoga retreat is a great opportunity to meet new members of your soul tribe. More than likely, the people drawn to the specific kind of retreat you’re drawn to will have other things in common with you. A yoga retreat allows for a deep bonding experience between the participants. It’s unlikely you’ll easily forget the people you share this experience with. Depending on the size of your retreat, you might have a chance to get to know the other people there on a much deeper level. In one week, you will have made a group of friends that could be from several different places in the world. A great opportunity to travel and see them again!

  1. HIGH VIBRATIONAL FOOD

Your spirit will be fueled by breathwork, yoga, and amazing people, and your physical body will be fueled and supported with nourishing, high-vibrational foods. Especially if your retreat is set somewhere in a warm climate, there will be fresh, organic, vegan, and vegetarian options to take your retreat to the next level. Not only will you leave the retreat feeling nourished on a spiritual and energetic level, but your body will likely feel purged, cleansed, and detoxified as well. If you’ve been looking for a good excuse to make a positive change in your diet, going on a retreat is a perfect first step.

  1. CONSCIOUS CONSUMPTION

Have you heard of this term yet? With the state our world is in, it’s time we stop spending our money towards more THINGS that eventually end up turning to waste, and start purchasing experiences and supporting conscious entrepreneurs instead. It wasn’t until I started traveling the world and living out of a backpack that I realized I truly didn’t need anything. The most important things I could spend my money on were experiences that brought me growth. A retreat will help you learn how to self-soothe in a way that you no longer need shopping therapy. A retreat will help you feel more happy and more confident in yourself, so you will be able to self-soothe without the need to consume more. Sometimes people think “Wow, a retreat is a lot of money. I don’t know if it’s worth it.” If this is you, it’s time to start reevaluating where you spend your money, and how much you value yourself and your evolution. Which brings me to my last point…

  1. INCREASE YOUR SELF-WORTH

I’m here to tell you that you are worth it. No matter the price, you are worth every penny of an experience that evolves you because it will help you grow into the greatest version of yourself! How would it feel to be so happy in who you are, that you no longer felt feelings like jealousy? How would it feel to be so confident, that you no longer felt the need to seek for anything or anyone outside of yourself? Tuning into the teachings of yoga in a retreat setting can act as a powerful catalyst to ascend you into your greatest, happiest, and most confident self. I encourage you to tune into self-love and gift yourself the chance to change your life by embarking on a yoga retreat.

I truly believe that going on a yoga retreat has the potential to change your life! It was a yoga retreat that ended up acting as a major turning point in my life which sent me on my yoga and spiritual path, which you can read about in my next blog post, here.
